MIGRAINE
Migraine can be highly disabling. Typical signs of the disease are a moderate to severe unilateral, pulsating headache lasting 4 to 72 hours, often combined with increased sensitivity to sound or light, nausea, and vomiting. Up to one-third of migraine patients experience aura which can cause symptoms such as disturbance of speech, vision, sense of smell, or motor function.
Many studies conclude that migraines affect 1 in 10 people worldwide and is the second highest cause of years lived with disability. Migraine can develop at any age but most commonly impacts the female population between the ages of 20 to 50 years.
The purpose of this study is to learn if the research medication, Xeomin, reduces migraine symptoms. During this research study, some people will take the research medication and some will take placebo.
To qualify for the study, you must be:
- Ages 19 and over
- Experiencing migraines before 50 years of age
- Experiencing 6 to 14 migraine days per month
- Other criteria may apply*
