IDIOPATHIC GASTROPARESIS
Idiopathic Gastroparesis is a condition characterized by delayed emptying of the stomach without an identifiable underlying cause. It is a type of gastroparesis, a disorder that affects the stomach’s ability to move food into the small intestine.
Gastroparesis affects the patient’s nutritional state, and severe symptoms of gastroparesis can lead to other complications such as malnutrition, esophagitis, and Mallory-Weiss tears. Gastroparesis negatively impacts a patient’s quality of life, causing decreased social interaction, poor work functionality, and development of anxiety or depression.
The purpose of this study is to learn if the research drug, CIN-102, reduces GI symptoms related to idiopathic gastroparesis and to see how safe CIN-102 is for patients with idiopathic gastroparesis. During this research study, some people will take the research drug and some will take placebo.
